Uploader program in Zip Format

Uploader program in exe Format
We have a system that will allow you to upload computer files to us in a secure and easy manner. Above are links to two different versions of the same program. The first version is a ZIP file that contains an installation program that will install the uploading application on your computer. People who understand Zip files or with Windows XP can use this to download the program. (Because this file is compressed it will be faster). The second link is the installing application. It is not compressed, but will be easier for those who are not used to Zip files.

It is best to download the program to your computer first (click save if prompted) and then run it. The program will install a little program on your desktop. You will note the D logo on your desktop.

Once you have the application on your desktop, all you need to do is drag the file or files you want to upload to us to this icon. The application will take care of compacting the file, and sending it to us in a secure manner. The Server that will receive these files is located in our office and is write only, so no one outside of our office will be able to see, read or do anything with your files. This system is actually safer than emailing the file to us, as it sends the file in an encrypted format and so there is less risk someone can intercept and read the data. To drag a file you open Windows Explorer (Windows Key combined with the E key will open it). Then you need to find the directory containing the files you want to send. Change the size of the Windows Explorer window so that you can see the files you want and the D logo on your desktop. Click on the file and drag it (holding the left mouse button down) to the D. This will drag the file to the uploader program and the upload will automatically proceed. (You must have internet connection and sending all but very small files over a dial up connection is not advised.)

For Quicken Files. Please remember Quicken is not one data file, but rather 4 to 7 different files. The default name is QDATA, but there are many names in actual use. You need to drag all of these files to the application or we will not be able to use the files we receive. If you would like, Tom could do an Internet computer meeting where you will allow him to use your computer remotely and he will create a batch file that will automate the process of sending the Quicken files. You will still have to start the process (unless you want him to schedule it) but rather than finding all the quicken files and dragging each of them, you could just start this process and it will automatically send the information.

Quickbooks. There is just one file, and it ends in .QBW. Just drag this to the application on your desktop and it will be sent. Again Tom could create a batch file to help automate this process and it could be scheduled to send at a certain time each month if you would like.
